First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at whether stopping the labor drug oxytocin once a woman reaches active labor (6 cm dilation) can reduce health problems in newborns. Over 2,400 full-term pregnant women took part. The goal was to see if this simple change lowers the chance of issues like low oxygen levels or needing intensive care after birth.
