Summary
This study tested a program called AWARE that helps families and doctors review a child's psychiatric medications and decide if any can be safely lowered or stopped. The program includes a simple handout explaining common medications and a guide for slowly reducing doses to avoid side effects. The study involved 31 children aged 6-17 who were on multiple medications or antipsychotics, and measured how practical and acceptable the process was.
