Summary

This study tested whether a medicine called isosorbide mononitrate could help soften the cervix in first-time mothers who were at least 41 weeks pregnant, with the goal of reducing the need for cesarean sections. Over 1,400 women took either the medicine or a placebo. The main focus was on how many women ended up having a C-section.
