Drug may curb bleeding in radical pelvic surgery

Summary

This study tests if tranexamic acid, a drug that helps blood clots stay stable, can reduce bleeding in patients having hemipelvectomy surgery for pelvic tumors. About 80 adults and children with pelvic tumors will take part. The goal is to see if the drug lowers the amount of blood lost during and after surgery.
