Can virtual reality help doctors overcome unconscious bias?
NCT ID NCT05165888
Summary
This study tested a new training program designed to help doctors communicate more effectively and fairly with Black family members of seriously ill patients. Researchers worked with 22 doctors, having them practice difficult conversations with actors playing family members. They compared doctors who received standard communication training to those who got extra training focused on recognizing and reducing unconscious racial bias.
