Scientists seek to tame cancer Drug's harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT07490509

Summary

This study aims to understand why a powerful breast cancer drug, abemaciclib, causes severe diarrhea and low white blood cell counts in many patients. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood of 235 patients to see if these side effects are linked to how much of the drug is in their system. The goal is to find a way to adjust the dose to reduce these side effects so patients can stay on this effective treatment longer.
