Doctors test cutting radiation to spare patients from harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT06030440

Summary

This study is testing whether doctors can safely reduce the amount of radiation given to head and neck cancer patients after surgery. The goal is to lower long-term side effects, like difficulty swallowing, without increasing the risk of the cancer coming back. About 500 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard radiation treatment or a reduced version that avoids treating certain healthy neck areas.
