New combo treatment aims to shrink tumors before surgery in advanced rectal cancer

Summary

This study is testing whether adding the experimental drug SHR-1701 to standard chemotherapy and radiation before surgery helps treat locally advanced rectal cancer. The goal is to shrink tumors as much as possible to improve surgical outcomes. About 48 adults with advanced rectal cancer who haven't had prior treatment will receive the combination therapy followed by surgery.
