New combo therapy aims to shrink rectal tumors without surgery

Summary
This study tests if a shorter course of radiation combined with chemotherapy and an immunotherapy drug (tislelizumab) works as well as the standard longer radiation plus the same immunotherapy for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. The main goal is to see how many patients have their tumors completely disappear. About 130 adults aged 18-75 with a specific type of rectal cancer will take part.
