Shorter radiation plus chemo may boost rectal cancer outcomes

Summary

This study tests a shorter course of radiation followed by 4 cycles of FOLFOX chemotherapy before surgery for locally advanced rectal cancer. The goal is to see if this approach improves 3-year disease-free survival compared to standard chemoradiation. About 364 Asian adults with stage 2 or 3 rectal cancer will take part.
