Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding an immunotherapy drug (PD-1 antibody) and a blood vessel blocker (bevacizumab) to standard short-course radiotherapy and chemotherapy can improve outcomes for people with a common type of locally advanced rectal cancer (pMMR/MSS). About 86 participants will receive either the standard treatment or the enhanced combination. The main goal is to see if the tumor completely disappears before surgery, which could help some patients avoid surgery entirely.
