Double-Drug attack tested to shrink rectal tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT06933251

Summary

This study is testing whether adding two newer types of drugs (a PCSK9 inhibitor and a PD-1 inhibitor) to standard pre-surgery chemotherapy and radiation can better shrink tumors in people with a specific type of locally advanced rectal cancer. It will enroll about 30 patients to see if this combination leads to more patients having their tumors disappear completely and is safe to use. The main goal is to improve outcomes and potentially allow for less invasive surgery.
