Blood test study aims to predict best treatment for rectal cancer
NCT ID NCT07194616
Summary
This study aims to learn which of two standard treatment approaches for rectal cancer is better at reducing cancer cells in the bloodstream. It will enroll 120 patients with stage II or III rectal cancer. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either surgery first or chemotherapy and radiation before surgery, and researchers will track cancer cells in their blood over time to see which approach leads to better long-term outcomes.
