New surgical approach aims to spare bowel control in rectal cancer patients

Summary

This study compares three different surgical techniques for removing very low rectal cancer while trying to preserve the patient's natural bowel control. It will enroll 100 patients to see which method provides the best balance between completely removing the cancer and maintaining good long-term bowel function. Researchers will track surgical safety, recovery of bowel control, and cancer recurrence rates over time.
