Doctors test precision radiation boost to fight rectal cancer

Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether giving extra, precisely targeted radiation after standard chemoradiation is safe and effective for rectal cancer. Researchers will use MRI scans every two weeks to adjust the extra radiation dose based on how the tumor responds, aiming to attack aggressive cancer cells while protecting healthy tissue. The study will enroll 37 adults with certain stages of rectal cancer who haven't had prior treatment.
