Summary

This early study tests whether gentle electrical stimulation deep inside the brain can help people with long-term disorders of consciousness regain awareness. Two people with brain injuries from causes like cardiac arrest or stroke will receive the stimulation. The main goal is to see if it is safe and if it improves their level of consciousness.
