Mind over matter: stroke patients learn to rewire reading skills
NCT ID NCT04875936
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study explores whether a brain imaging technique called fMRI neurofeedback can help people who have had a stroke improve their reading. Participants will practice controlling their own brain activity using real-time feedback, aiming to boost activity in the language side of the brain. The study involves 28 adults who had a left-hemisphere stroke within the past 3 months and have reading difficulties. The goal is to understand if this approach can lead to better reading recovery.
