Summary
This study tested whether special tutoring programs could help first graders who were already falling behind in reading and math. Researchers worked with 385 students, giving some extra reading help, some extra math help, some both, and comparing them to students who just got their school's usual lessons. The goal was to see which approach helped children improve their skills the most over 15 weeks.
