Reading app trial aims to boost literacy in kids with dyslexia

NCT ID NCT04568824

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests a computer program called GraphoLearn, designed to improve reading skills in children aged 6 to 10 with reading disabilities. Researchers will compare reading gains in children who use GraphoLearn versus those who use a math program. The goal is to see if the app works and what factors predict success, potentially offering a low-cost, home-based solution for struggling readers.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

GraphoLearn reading intervention (a computer program that teaches reading skills)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward an effective, low-cost reading intervention that families can use at home to help children with reading disabilities.

What could go wrong

This is a relatively early-stage study (Phase NA) with 450 participants. The intervention is a computer program, so results may vary widely, and it may not work for all children. The study is not yet recruiting, so results are pending.
