Gut bacteria swap could fight superbugs in new trial

NCT ID NCT06321536

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a special mix of gut bacteria (microbiota therapy) can safely reduce the amount of drug-resistant superbugs living in the gut. About 60 adults who carry these resistant bacteria will either receive the therapy or just be watched. The goal is to see if the treatment clears the resistant germs better than doing nothing.
