5-Day PTSD fix? new study tests quick brain zaps for veterans
NCT ID NCT07167940
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 40 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 5-day course of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can reduce PTSD symptoms in veterans. TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the brain and is already approved for depression. The trial will compare real TMS to a sham treatment in 90 veterans who still have symptoms despite other treatments. The goal is to see if this faster approach is effective and lasting.
