First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new rapid triage test for children with fever in sub-Saharan Africa. The goal is to see if adding this quick test to standard checkups helps doctors better decide which children need hospital admission and which can safely go home. About 5,200 children aged 2 months to 5 years will take part, and the study will compare outcomes like deaths and return visits between those who got the test and those who didn't.
