Quick swab test aims to curb unnecessary antibiotics for sick kids

NCT ID NCT07453914

Summary

This study is testing if a fast nasal swab test can help doctors in emergency rooms better manage children with coughs, fevers, and other respiratory symptoms. About 720 children in three European countries will be randomly assigned to either get the rapid test or receive standard care. The goal is to see if getting test results quickly leads to better treatment decisions, fewer unnecessary antibiotics or X-rays, and happier parents.
