Finger-Prick test could speed up stroke diagnosis for kids in ER

NCT ID NCT07474675

Summary

This study is testing a rapid bedside blood test, similar to a pregnancy test, to see if it can quickly and accurately tell if a child is having a specific type of stroke caused by a major blood clot. Researchers will enroll 250 children who arrive at the emergency room with sudden neurological symptoms. The goal is to see if this simple test can help doctors diagnose strokes faster, potentially reducing the need for slower or riskier imaging scans in kids.
