30-Minute test could cut unnecessary antibiotics for STIs

NCT ID NCT05564299

Summary

This study tested whether a new 30-minute rapid test for gonorrhea and chlamydia helps doctors manage patients better than the current standard test. About 100 adults with symptoms of a urinary or cervical infection participated. The main goal was to see if the faster test led to more precise antibiotic prescriptions, potentially reducing unnecessary medication.
