Zapping heart trouble: radiation may beat standard procedure for deadly rhythms
NCT ID NCT06360939
First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests if a precise form of radiation therapy (SBRT) can reduce dangerous heart rhythms better than the usual catheter ablation in 60 people with advanced heart disease. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either radiation or ablation, and researchers will compare how well each treatment cuts the number of heart rhythm episodes by at least 75% over 6 months. The goal is to find a safer, less invasive option for managing ventricular tachycardia.
