NCT ID NCT07475780
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether radiofrequency ablation (using heat to destroy tumors) can safely lower high calcium levels in 20 adults with recurrent parathyroid cancer who cannot have surgery. Participants will have one to five neck tumors treated. The goal is to control the disease and reduce symptoms, not to cure it.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
radiofrequency ablation (device)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-surgical option to control high calcium levels in patients with recurrent parathyroid cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 20 patients, so results may not apply to everyone. The procedure carries risks like nerve damage or voice changes.
Conditions
