Precision radiation boosts fight against rare abdominal cancer
NCT ID NCT01841047
Summary
This study tested a new approach for treating a rare abdominal cancer called retroperitoneal liposarcoma. It combined a precise, high-dose form of radiation (helical tomotherapy) with surgery, aiming to better control the cancer and prevent it from coming back. The trial enrolled 48 patients to see if this combination was more effective than previous methods.
