Radiation 'Priming' tested to boost cancer immunotherapy
NCT ID NCT03610711
Summary
This study is testing whether giving targeted, high-dose radiation to cancer sites can make the body's immune system more responsive to immunotherapy drugs in patients with advanced stomach or esophageal cancer. About 21 patients will receive radiation followed by one of two immunotherapy drug combinations. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and changes the immune cells in a remaining, un-radiated tumor.
