Radiation zaps painful skin disease in new trial

NCT ID NCT07414550

Summary

This study is testing whether a targeted course of radiation therapy can provide lasting relief for people with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) that hasn't responded well to other treatments. Ten adult participants with HS in both armpits will receive radiation to one side only, allowing doctors to directly compare the treated area with the untreated side. The main goal is to see if radiation reduces painful lumps and sores and improves quality of life for this chronic, difficult-to-manage skin condition.
