Study tests safer wrist approach to shield heart doctors from radiation

NCT ID NCT05702060

Summary

This study aimed to see if a new approach to accessing heart arteries through the left wrist exposes doctors to less radiation than the standard right wrist approach. Over 1,000 patients scheduled for heart imaging or stenting were randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Researchers then measured and compared the amount of radiation the doctors received during the procedures.
