Precision radiation tested to stop prostate Cancer's return

NCT ID NCT01923506

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether higher doses of very precise radiation can safely treat prostate cancer that returns after surgery. Researchers are carefully increasing the radiation dose for 26 patients who have had their prostate removed to find the highest amount that doesn't cause severe side effects. The treatment delivers concentrated radiation directly to the area where the prostate was, aiming to kill remaining cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue.
