Precision radiation blitz tested to fight tough lung cancers

NCT ID NCT01345851

Summary

This study is testing a new way to deliver radiation therapy along with standard chemotherapy for people with stage II or III non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. The goal is to see if a more targeted, higher-dose radiation schedule can kill more cancer cells while trying to limit damage to healthy tissue. Researchers will find the safest, most effective dose and monitor how well the treatment controls the cancer and its side effects.
