First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a high-precision radiation treatment (helical tomotherapy) given before surgery for retroperitoneal liposarcoma, a rare cancer in the abdomen. The goal was to see if a higher radiation dose (54 Gy) could lower the chance of the cancer coming back. 48 adults with operable tumors took part. The approach aims to improve local control while limiting damage to nearby organs.
