First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding racecadotril to standard rehydration therapy helps children aged 3 months to 5 years with acute watery diarrhea. 200 hospitalized children were randomly given either racecadotril or a placebo alongside usual care. The goal was to see if the drug reduces stool frequency, improves stool consistency, and shortens hospital stays.
