First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a quality-of-life questionnaire to guide blood transfusions can reduce the number of transfusions for adults with advanced MDS or AML who are receiving palliative care. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the standard hemoglobin-based transfusion approach or a strategy based on their reported quality of life. The goal is to maintain comfort and safety while minimizing transfusion burden.
