Summary

This study tests whether a new ultrasound-guided nerve block called the quadroiliac plane block can reduce pain and opioid use after kidney transplant surgery better than the standard method of injecting anesthetic into the surgical wound. Sixty adults receiving a kidney transplant will be randomly assigned to one of the two pain-block techniques. Researchers will measure how much pain medication patients need in the first 24 hours after surgery, along with pain scores and recovery quality.
