QR code tour of delivery room aims to ease childbirth fears in First-Time mothers

NCT ID NCT07496879

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving first-time mothers a virtual tour of the delivery room through QR codes can reduce their fear of childbirth, increase readiness, and improve vaginal birth rates and breastfeeding confidence. One hundred pregnant women between 28-32 weeks will watch three short videos about admission, the labor room, and postpartum care. Researchers will measure fear, readiness, and self-efficacy using standard questionnaires before and after the intervention.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to help first-time mothers feel less afraid and more prepared for childbirth.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 100 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The intervention is just videos, so it may not reduce fear for everyone.
