New pill combo aims to tackle Hard-to-Treat breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07173556
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new drug called QLC1401, taken as a tablet, combined with either CDK4/6 inhibitors or mTOR inhibitors for people with ER+/HER2- advanced breast cancer. The trial has two parts: first, finding the safest dose, then checking how well it works. About 96 participants will join to see if the combination can shrink tumors and control the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
QLC1401 tablets combined with CDK4/6 inhibitors (palbociclib, abemaciclib, ribociclib) or mTOR inhibitors (everolimus)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with ER+/HER2- advanced breast cancer that has stopped responding to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 96 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The combination may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors as hoped.
