Ancient breathing technique tested to help stroke survivors breathe and move better

NCT ID NCT07153562

Summary

This study tested whether adding a specific type of gentle breathing exercise, called Liuzijue Qigong, to standard rehab could help older adults recover after a stroke. 70 patients aged 60-80 were split into two groups: one did the breathing exercises plus standard rehab, and the other did only standard rehab for 12 weeks. Researchers measured if the breathing exercises improved lung function, walking ability, movement, sleep, and overall quality of life.
