Scientists test 'Rebooted' immune cells to fight crippling autoimmune diseases

NCT ID NCT07473154

Summary

This early-stage study is testing an experimental treatment called QEL-005 in adults with two severe autoimmune conditions: difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis and a serious form of systemic sclerosis. The treatment involves taking a patient's own immune cells, modifying them in a lab to potentially better control the disease, and infusing them back. The main goals are to see if this personalized cell therapy is safe and if it shows any early signs of reducing disease activity or improving symptoms.
