Scientists investigate hidden chemical pathways in rare calcification disease
NCT ID NCT07323082
Summary
This study aims to understand how specific chemical compounds in the body contribute to abnormal calcium deposits in blood vessels of people with pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE). Researchers will measure these compounds in 45 adult PXE patients to see how they relate to disease severity. The goal is to uncover new information about PXE's underlying mechanisms that could eventually lead to better treatments.
