First human trial tests bioengineered implant to save sight from corneal swelling

Summary
This is the first study in people to test the safety of a new corneal implant called PVEK. It aims to treat corneal swelling caused by specific eye diseases. About 15 participants will receive the implant and be closely monitored for side effects and how well they tolerate it over 12 months.
