New eye test may spot vision damage early in brain pressure disorder

NCT ID NCT03304314

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive eye test called pupillometry to see if it can detect vision problems in people with pseudotumor cerebri (a condition where pressure builds up in the brain). Researchers will compare the pupil responses of 100 participants (patients and healthy volunteers) to colored lights. The goal is to find a faster, easier way to check for vision loss without requiring much effort from the patient.
