Summary
This study compares two heart procedures for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat. One group gets the standard treatment (isolating the pulmonary veins), while the other gets that plus extra ablation on the back wall of the heart and a major vein. The goal is to see if the extra ablation prevents AF from coming back for a year. About 220 adults with persistent AF will take part.
