First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study compares a new pulsed field ablation (PFA) catheter to standard heat or cold ablation for treating atrial fibrillation (AF) in 136 adults. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the new PFA device or standard thermal ablation. The goal is to see if the new method is as effective at preventing irregular heart rhythms and has fewer serious complications like stroke or heart damage.
