Does your Child's skin color affect hospital monitor accuracy?

NCT ID NCT05692453

Summary

This study aims to find out if pulse oximeters—the clip-on devices that measure oxygen levels—work as accurately for Black children as they do for White children during surgery. Researchers will compare the pulse oximeter readings to more precise blood oxygen tests in 540 children aged 2 to 9. The goal is to ensure this common medical tool provides reliable results for all patients.
