Shockwave device aims to clear blocked leg arteries without surgery

Summary
This study tests a new device that uses gentle shockwaves to break up hard calcium deposits in leg arteries of people with peripheral artery disease (PAD). The goal is to safely open the blocked vessels and improve blood flow without major surgery. About 115 adults with moderate to severe PAD will be treated and followed to see if the device works and is safe.
