New shockwave device aims to crack hardened heart arteries

This early study tests a new device that uses sound waves to break up calcium buildup in heart arteries, making it easier to place a stent. Up to 15 adults with coronary artery disease will be treated. The goal is to see if the device is safe and works as intended.
