New device aims to pull dangerous clots from lungs without surgery

NCT ID NCT06576427

Summary

This study is testing a medical device called the Vertex Pulmonary Embolectomy System to see if it can safely remove blood clots from the lungs of people with a serious type of pulmonary embolism. The device is inserted into blood vessels to physically pull out the clots, aiming to quickly reduce strain on the heart. The study will enroll 123 adults who have recently developed symptoms and have a specific clot location and heart strain.
